The City Council of the City of San Jacinto is seeking applications from citizens interested in serving on San Jacinto’s Planning Commission. The Planning Commission is a five-member body that provides recommendations related to land use and development issues facing the City Council. The Commission meets on the fourth Monday of each month at the Community Center, 625 S. Pico Avenue, San Jacinto.

Currently, one seat available for appointment. The person selected will fill the unexpired term left from the resignation of Planning Commissioner Leslie Moore. Commissioners receive a stipend of $175 per month.

The application period is from Monday, January 27, 2020 through Thursday, February 20, 2020, 5:00 p.m. deadline.

The Planning Commission is instrumental in San Jacinto’s future. Commissioners review retail, residential, and commercial projects to ensure each adhere to the City's development code, and make recommendations to the City Council. Citizens interested in serving their community on this important commission are encouraged to apply. Following an interview process by a Council ad hoc committee, the City Council is expected to make the appointment at the February 18, 2020, regular City Council meeting.
