PLANNING COMMISSION UNSCHEDULED VACANCY

The City Council of the City of San Jacinto is seeking applications from citizens interested in serving on San Jacinto’s Planning Commission.  The Planning Commission is a five-member body that provides recommendations related to land use and development issues facing the City Council.  The Commission meets on the fourth Monday of the month at the Community Center, 625 S. Pico Avenue, San Jacinto. 

There is currently one seat available for an appointment.  The person selected will fill the unexpired term left by Planning Commissioner Jeremy Fontes whose term is due to expire on October 31, 2021.  Commissioners receive a stipend of $175 per month.

The application period will be from Monday, January 25 through Thursday, February 18, 2021, 5:00 p.m. deadline

The Planning Commission is instrumental in San Jacinto’s future.  These Commissioners weave the fabric of the community through the developing infrastructure, i.e. streets, parks, open space, retail centers, and storm drains.  Citizens interested in serving their community on this important commission are encouraged to apply.  Following an interview process by a Council ad hoc committee, the City Council is expected to make the appointment at the March 2, 2021 regular City Council meeting.

Applicants must reside in the City of San Jacinto or within the sphere of influence.  Applications may be picked up at City Hall, 595 S. San Jacinto Avenue, San Jacinto, CA, 92583, or contact the City Clerk’s office at (951) 487-7339 for an application to be mailed or emailed. Applications are available as well on the City’s website: www.sanjacintoca.gov.  The application deadline is February 20, 2021, at 5:00 pm.
